Gov. Scott Celebrates "Major Wins" In West Palm Beach

Florida Gov. Rick Scott Addresses Media After Meeting With HHS Chief Burwell

Governor Rick Scott is visiting West Palm Beach Tuesday as part of a statewide tour to tout the budget approved by the legislature during last week's special session.

His staff says the "Fighting for Florida's Future Victory" tour is to celebrate what they call the major wins for Florida families and students.  That includes an all-time high of K-through-12 per-student spending (around $100), full funding for Visit Florida, $85 million for job growth and economic development and $50 million to help fix the dyke surrounding Lake Okeechobee.

The governor and House Speaker Richard Corcoran will be at the South Florida Water Management District's offices at 11 a.m.

They're also visiting Miami, Fort Myers, Tampa and Jacksonville.
