A former Cardinal Newman High School basketball star was drafted in the first round of the NBA Draft Thursday night.
John Collins was selected 19th overall by the Atlanta Hawks.
He is just the third player from Palm Beach County in NBA history to be drafted in the first round. After graduating from Cardinal Newman, Collins played ball at Wake Forest.
