A Greenacres City Council member has been arrested.
Lisa Rivera is charged with larceny and fraud. Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Rivera on Monday. She's out on bond.
The woman has served on the council for seven years.
The charges are reportedly connected to her job as treasurer at Boca Raton High School. Rivera is accused of stealing more than $20,000 from the school. According to the arrest report, she removed cash from a drop safe.
The arrest stems from an investigation that started two years ago at the Palm Beach County School District Inspector General's Office.
