Town Of Palm Beach To Look At Increasing Budget For Presidential Visits

President Trump Arrives In Florida For Weekend At Mar-A-Lago Estate

The Palm Beach Town Council plans to discuss allocating more money to next year's budget for added security during future visits from President Trump.

The amount the town is looking at adding is nearly $227,000.

While he hasn't been in the area for a while, the president has visited a total of seven times since inauguration.

Local and state agencies have the opportunity to be reimbursed for security costs associated with presidential visits under a more than $1 trillion spending bill signed by Trump earlier this year.

Municipalities must apply and get approval from the federal government.

The Town Council meets tomorrow.
