Important media headlines for September 26th:

Bottom Line: The advent of the Trump administration and mainstream media's decision to stop any pretense of objectivity in covering this administration brought about the daily feature (that's become a fan favorite) hysterical media headlines. I use it to illustrate the absurdity and lack of objectivity in media on a daily basis as well as it being a source of levity. I've toyed with the idea of having one focused on important, must read material as well. The debut on Friday was met positively so we'll keep it for now. Here are today's important headlines:

Excerpt: In reality, Trump has taken the side of the flag and provoked multi-millionaire athletes into opposing patriotism. When several players for the New England Patriots took a knee during the anthem on Sunday, their own fans booed them. So do fans of the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins when members of those respective teams knelt. (RELATED: Football Fans Boo Players Protesting National Anthem)

There are hardly two more liberal, anti-Trump areas in America than the Boston and D.C. metropolitan areas. Yet even football fans who live there can’t stand protests against the anthem.

Rather than earning sympathy for free speech, more players joining in the protest is more likely to alienate NFL fans from the game. Polling last year showed that an overwhelming majority of Americans thought that politics should be kept off the field. The number one reason for declining NFL ratings was due to national anthem protests, according to ESPN, of all places.

Check, check & check. 100% on the money. Couldn't be stated any better.

Excerpt: The fabulously wealthy players who take a knee not in thanks for the privilege of being American and living in America but in disgust at both are expressing ignorance of — or disrespect for — some amazing things about America.

They dis the only nation in history to engage in the massive slaughter of each other in a moral war to end the un-Christian practice of slavery. I and my family would have fought in that war on the anti-slavery side.

The kneelers give the finger to the only nation in history to go in less than a century from slavery to national anti-discrimination legislation, with criminal penalties for violations.

And any race-baiters out there, get this straight: I helped lead demonstrations locally and nationally in support of enacting that civil-rights legislation. I marched with Dr. King.
