Bottom Line: These are the stories you don't want to miss (but probably would if I didn't find them for you)...

Excerpt: ...one subject feminists have failed completely. They have remained silent on the brutal reality of women in Islamic countries. Feminists of all genders do a disservice to their sisters in Islam when they ignore ordained rules and practices they would never tolerate in their own lives. This crucial (and rather embarrassing) flaw in Western feminism was emphasized recently by two women with deep knowledge of the problem: Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born, ex-Muslim author renowned for her criticism of Islam; and Asra Q. Nomania, a co-founder of the Muslim Reform Movement. Feminists ignore practices they would never tolerate in their own lives...

In a joint statement directed at women who marched across the U.S. against President Donald Trump’s policies, they said: “We’re still waiting for a march against honour killings, child marriages, polygamy, sex slavery or female genital mutilation.” They implied that they expected to wait a long time. Excusing men of colour, Muslims, immigrants or men living in non-Western societies for bad behaviour toward women is an expression of the bigotry of low expectations. The result of this mindset is that Christianity is criticized for every misstep against women but Islam is protected from the glare of scrutiny.”

This hasn't and won't gain traction in media more broadly because it doesn't fit the political narrative that's readily advanced in this country. It's a reminder though that the most pervasive form of bias is omitting information. Contrary to popular leftists' beliefs, Donald Trump isn't the biggest abuser of women's rights in the world. It's Islam under Sharia law. If that makes some Muslims uncomfortable it should. At least if you adhere to that crazy American ideal that we're all created with equal rights. There are currently 21 countries with explicit Sharia law and 15 more with blended Sharia law. Btw, as an aside to women being 2nd class citizens for folks in the LGBT movement. You'd be stoned to death in these countries. I find the lack of concern and misplaced priorities alarming there as well.

There are plenty of valid points within this piece but I'm reminded of the message I've been repeating near daily of late because you don't get it elsewhere:

  • Base unemployment rate is the lowest in 16 years

  • Real unemployment is the best in ten years

  • Wage growth is the best in ten years

  • Labor participation is the best in four years

  • Corporate profits are at all-time highs

  • The stock market is at all-time highs amid a record run since last November's election

If nothing else happened or were on the horizon that's constructive - that'd do it.

Excerpt: After an extensive review, Facebook has identified $100,000 of ads that came from accounts associated with Russia. Assume for the sake of argument that Vladimir Putin personally authorized this expenditure. Given its divisive nature, the campaign could be dubbed “From Russia, With Hate”—except it would make for a disappointing James Bond movie.

Analyzing the pattern of expenditures, and doing some back-of-the-envelope math, it’s clear this was no devilishly effective plot. Facebook says 56% of the ads ran after the election, reducing the tally that could have influenced the result to about $44,000. It also turns out the ads were not confined to swing states but also shown in places like New York, California and Texas. Supposing half the ads went to swing states brings the total down to $22,000.

Come on! Of course, $44k in social media advertising along with the collusion that's been proven, puppies beaten, etc. is the reason Trump's President!

Until tomorrow...
