Hysterical Headlines (Funny or Absurd) for October 24th:

Bottom Line: These are you daily doses of nonsense from the generally godless, soulless and slanderous news media...

Excerpt: There will be other times when President Bush, President Obama, President Bill Clinton and others will come out of retirement from public office to remind us of who we are, but the remarks we heard today should resound as an early and stirring reminder that we have more in common than not -- and that we are living in an uncommon time when language and political passion are being used to divide us.

First thought on this article. We're 350 days removed from the 2016 Presidential election and they still haven't gotten a clue as to why Donald Trump became the GOP candidate and eventually President. Hint to CNN. It wasn't because we wanted "normal". That is unless you're talking about normal US economic growth. We haven't had a normal year of US economic growth since 2005. The economy averaged a worst in history 1.8% annual rate for eight years under President Obama. So, the leadership of the two Presidents mentioned left us in the Great Recession followed by the worst eight years economically of any President/recovery in American history. But congrats - maybe in your ivory tower you didn't feel it. Welcome to the real world. It's about time you got a clue.

Second thought on this one. Of the three Presidents cited there is one that requires potential clarification. That would-be George W. Bush. But that's not what happened. President Bush, President Obama, President Bill Clinton Umm. What's the implication here exactly? Oh right, you're part of the, godless, soulless and slanderous media.

Excerpt: Donald Trump has a particular taste for the degradation of racial, ethnic and religious minorities and women — and God forbid those identities should overlap — as a way of playing out his personal sense of racial, sexist, and patriarchal entitlement. And as he degrades, he plays to those very same entitlements in the base that elected him. Donald Trump’s boogeymen are very often boogeywomen, and they are particularly primed for attack if they are black or brown.

Alright, well done. We've got yet another take down of Donald Trump as a racist bigot with the triple word score of asserting that all of his supporters are also racist bigots of everything that isn't white, male and Christian. So, if you think Frederica Wilson's politicization of hero's death and subsequent media tour are out of line - you're now a racist bigot too. I know this in part because the model is being used on a near daily basis against those who dare speak out. I've been called a racist more in the past few months than in the previous 20 years combined. Unless you are actually a racist, in which case I don't want anything to do with you politically or otherwise either, be strong and know the real bigots expose themselves daily. Like the author of this piece.

Excerpt: The government has added an average of 13,000 new restrictions annually for the past 20 years. Under Trump, the number of new regulations is near zero.

This has been the dirty little secret that only those in the cross hairs of regulators of businesses knew about. 13,000 new regs per year. It's unimaginable right? Business regulation had become so onerous that the cost of compliance alone put companies out of business and prevented some companies from ever happening. For larger companies that could/can bear the threshold of the expense "compliance officers" they became cornerstones of business operation. How absurd are regulations when you have to have a whole department to just try to keep up with them?

I've mentioned it on several occasions but it bears repeating. The 3.1% growth in the second quarter (which President Trump was mocked for predicting - remember those days?) doesn't just happen by accident. A combination of certainty in knowing that the business climate in this country was more favorable for expansion and regulation combined with President Trump eliminating more than 800 Obama-Era regulations within weeks of becoming President paved the path.

Until tomorrow...
