Hot – College Puts Scare Into Students With False “Armed Intruder” Alert

Palm Beach State College unintentionally stoked fears just one day after the Parkland school shooting.  A text was sent out yesterday, about an armed intruder, but a second text later stressed that the first message was only a test of the school’s messaging system.  The college now says it was a mistake and they are looking into the matter.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A lockdown alert regarding an armed intruder at Palm Beach State College caused a big scare on campus, especially since it was a test.

A spokeswoman for the college said a test was sent out for the campus in Palm Beach Gardens around 1:58 p.m.
