  • Yes, tropical depression three has formed off of our coast. No, it’s not that that big of a deal, will remain offshore & isn’t likely to strengthen from here. Rainfall totaling 1 to 2 inches along the coast is the extent of the anticipated impact.
  • Virgin Train officials met with Boca Raton city officials as they discussed the possibility of adding a Brightline stop in Boca. Part of Brightline’s ongoing strategy is to add stops to its existing route while engaged in the multi-year build out to Orlando and perhaps eventually Tampa
  • John Morgan launched a new website and has begun a marketing program to attempt to advance his $15 minimum wage proposed constitutional amendment for Florida’s 2020 ballot. He said he’s approximately 200,000 signatures short of the 766,200 required to take the next step in this process
  • The Broward Deputy killed in the line of duty over the weekend has been identified as Benji Nimtz, a veteran, husband and father of two. He’s the sixth Florida law enforcement official to die in the line of duty this year
  • The Palm Beach County School District is considering Allison Castellano as the potential successor to removed Spanish River High School principal William Latson. The School District meets tomorrow to discuss her status as well as next steps of Latson.
