Weekend Rewind: Gains made by Americans during the Trump administration

Real America - Gains made by most Americans during the Trump administration

Bottom Line: One of the very few highly accurate economists, Stephen Moore, produced a column over the weekend that showed exactly what’s happened for the average family since President Trump took office in 2017. While I track various storylines in the monthly jobs reports, Stephan broke out what exactly has happened for the average household from January of 2017 through August of 2019. It’s remarkable.

  • Median household income is up $5003
  • Average income is 8.2% higher

That’s huge, undeniable progress in two and a half years. By comparison here’s the improvement during the entire eight years of Presidents Bush and Obama:

  • Bush: $402
  • Obama: $1043

That’s right, in two and a half years of President Trump’s economy, median household incomes have grown by $3,558 more than the prior sixteen years combined. It’s powerful and it’s hard to emphasize just how impressive and meaningful this truly is to achieve. It’s obvious why Democrats and their allies in news media are trying to advance a recession narrative, despite it being non-existent. We're witnessing one of the most impressive improvements in the average American’s life. That’s bad news for Democrats and it runs completely counter to the 2020 candidate’s contentions. But as always, there are two side to stories but one side to facts.
