- Publix announced it will donate $2 billion in food over the next decade. This after having already donated $2 billion in food since 2009. Publix provides food to over 100 Feeding America food banks currently.
- Tampa’s Big Cat Rescue has rescued three tigers which were abused as circus animals in Guatemala. The tigers were flown into Miami yesterday and will live on the reserve in Tampa. The rescue cost was $85,000 all paid through donations to Big Cat Reserve.
- Florida’s Supreme Court Judicial Nominating Commission is now accepting applications for the two openings on Florida’s high court after last week’s federal confirmations of Barbara Lagoa and Robert Luck. The application period will end on Christmas Eve and recommendations will be made to Governor DeSantis in January.
- 23-year-old ISIS sympathizer Salman Rashid of North Miami Beach appeared in court for the solicitation of violent crime. Rashid’s targeting with attempted recruitment for the purpose of bombing Miami Dade and Broward College’s as part of his desire to establish Islamic law. The FBI recently arrested him after having discovered warning signs on social media dating back to the spring of 2018.
