We’re almost always waking up on the wrong side of the bed

Bottom Line: A recent study brings a new meaning and relevance to the saying “waking up on the wrong side of the bed”. It appears that not only is that common. It’s almost always the case for most people. Get this, according to the findings of One Poll, the average person wakes up unhappy...300 days a year!

That means that only 18% of the time, or less than once every five days, we’re waking up in a good mood. The researchers found that the most common causes of unhappiness could be traced back to disruptions in the middle of the night. These included – in this order – needing to go to the bathroom, anxiety, noises, temperature issues, bad dreams and our pets. That’s a lot of adversity to overcome to get a good night’s sleep. Put the whole ball of wax together and what this really seems to be is the complete picture of why most of us are sleep deprived. We’re likely waking up in a bad mood because we’re still tired – chronically. Which would have a way of feeding on itself.
