  • With only 738 new COVID-19 cases reported by the Florida Department of Health, Florida had the fewest new daily cases reported since June 2nd. Additionally, the weekly average case count is the lowest since June 17th.
  • Governor DeSantis signed an executive order directing the state’s Department of Economic Opportunity to waive the work search and waiting week requirements for benefits until at least December 5th.
  • A shark fin ring operating from coast to coast has been busted. The ring hubbed out of California, included operations in Florida’s waters under. The Florida operations were conducted under a front company called Phoenix Fisheries. According to a 37-page indictment 12 people were involved in an operation which hunted sharks from coast to coast with the fins exported to Asia out of California.
  • The largest Surf park in the country is set to be built in Fort Pierce. A mixed-use surf park / residential housing development called Willow Lakes will include 800 homes, 600 hotel rooms and extensive retail space within the community. The wave pool will create 1,000 waves per hour and accommodate 100 surfers at a time. 3,400 jobs will be created for the project which will commence next year.
