A local police department is continuing its recruitment efforts.
The Boynton Beach Police Department has been taking to Facebook to find interested candidates to become officers.
We recently asked Police Chief Michael Gregory if some of the turmoil going on around the country over the summer, including deadly police involved shootings and the reaction to them from protestors, had an effect on the amount of people wanting to become cops.
"I think that certainly had an impact on the number of folks who are interested in policing as a career or giving it an opportunity. But I think there's still a good core group of people who have the right heart and the right mind, who are looking for a professional job to make a difference in a local community. And that's the kind of folks that we want to hire."
