  • Florida entered this week averaging the fewest COVID-19 cases since the first week of the Delta surge. With only 2,683 new COVID-19 cases over the past week, it’s the lowest daily trend since July 6th.   • Hospitalizations for COVID-19 statewide have fallen below 3,000 entering this week and are now the lowest since July 10th. Hospitalizations have fallen 84% from peak levels.
  • South Florida state senator Annette Taddeo, Charlie Crist’s running mate from his failed 2014 bid for governor, is set to run against Charlie Crist for governor next year. Taddeo is expected to enter the Democratic primary today – joining Crist and Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried. 
  • The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has issued a warning about a text scam. According to FDOH texts are going out to Floridians with the note that you need to verify your driver’s license details and contain a link where you’re suggested to do so. According to the FDOH they’ll never text you asking for personal, medical or driver's license information.
