A.I. Lies & The DeSantis Super PAC Fights Back – Top 3 Takeaways – April 18th, 2023
- AI lies. Job loss, robo cops, the fear of artificial intelligence taking over society has long been a thing. But now AI is an actual thing impacting everyday lives. Last fall’s release of OpenAI’s Chat GPT could be likened to Prodigy’s first foray into the consumer internet in the 1980’s. As the internet’s first mass market consumer internet product- it offered news, weather, sports and searchable services as a single portal which first connected the world wide web online. A single service, a single portal, a single company’s content creators and computer engineers steering the path of what was “on the internet”. Before long the democratization of the internet was well underway, and Prodigy quickly became a forgotten thing of the past. With Google soon set to release its own AI service to compete with Chat GPT, and with Elon also now coming out with his own artificial intelligence service, at the consumer level, we’re set to be following a similar path to the onset of the consumer internet itself. Competition and free markets work after all. In the meantime, however...
- Who’s the arbiter of what’s true? Who’s fact checking AI’s fact checkers? The concern behind this phenomenon is nothing new. It’s as old as the consumer internet itself. Whether it’s Google’s search results or FactCheck.org’s fact checkers, the truth online has only been as truthful as the humans who program algorithms producing results. However, what’s different now in the age of AI, is that now you don’t just have people searching for truth online, which provides the opportunity for all available information to potentially be found... With services like Chat GPT, we now have a service which tells you it’s truth. It’s been my concern from the beginning, and it’s what Elon Musk just told Tucker Carlson, that leftist programmers are teaching AI to lie. And there would be personal motivation. Starting with the company’s founder San Franscisco based Sam Altman, he has a long history of donating millions of dollars to dozens of Democrats. 100% of the money donated by Altman since 2004, and OpenAI since its founding, has gone to Democrats and leftist PACs. From Elliot Spitzer to Joe Biden - Altman’s funded them all. And now his company is the sole arbiter of truth for those relying on AI. What could go wrong? Yes, Elon’s right, AI lies because people like Sam Altman lie, and that’s who's behind the creation and programming of these services. That’s also why Musk, who ironically was one of the founders of OpenAI, has called artificial intelligence the greatest threat to humanity, is creating his own service. X.AI. Evidently in the eyes of Musk the way to fight the lies is with your own AI.
- The Gloves are off with DeSantis’ Super Pac. Two and a half weeks from now two things will happen. Florida’s state legislative session will come to a close and Governor Ron DeSantis’ window to announce a presidential run will begin. Before then, and fresh off of the fudgy fingers ad Trump’s super pack just put out, DeSantis’ super pack is fighting back. Despite Trump’s consistent hammering away at Florida’s governor since the first week of November, DeSantis has declined to directly fight back. The closest he’s come was when he was recently asked to weigh in on Trump’s indictment and he said he doesn’t know what goes into paying off porn stars. But times are changing. The DeSantis – affiliated Never Back Down PAC, is back with its first strike against Trump. The new ad entitled Fight Democrats, Not Republicans goes like this... Donald Trump is being attacked by a Democrat prosecutor in New York, so why is he spending millions attacking the Republican governor of Florida? Trump’s stealing pages from the Biden-Pelosi Playbook. Repeating lies about Social Security. Here’s the truth from Governor Ron DeSantis: We’re not going to mess with Social Security as Republicans. What did Trump say? (When asked) Will entitlements ever be on your plate? At some point they will be... We will take a look at that... Trump should fight Democrats not lie about Governor DeSantis. What Happened to Donald Trump? And that’s not the only one. Another just produced ad they have on the ready is called Gun-Grabbing Trump. I’ll spare you the details for now, but you’ll likely see it before long. But as for the new pro-DeSantis PAC sharing a pro-DeSantis message, they also produced a positive ad entitled “Anthem” which is patriotic and is an unapologetically Florida freedom-based message. Anyway, it’s clear what’s to come and there will be another time for choosing. I don’t get the sense that DeSantis intends to personally go after Trump the way that Trump goes after him, however the gloves are off with the Super PACs and its only April. As Michael Buffer once said, let’s get ready for the ultimate rumble. And hope there’s someone and something left standing after it to take on the hermit who currently occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. who is thrilled to watch this happen.
