  • The Florida Department of Agriculture announced the results of their investigation into illegally marketed products dubbed Operation Kandy Krush. The operation was a statewide sweep into hemp-based products which were packaged and marketed directly to children which is illegal. The state found 470 businesses were selling illegal products with a total of 68,689 products confiscated by the state. In Palm Beach County the Vape and Smoke Shop with locations in West Palm Beach and Boca Raton, The Chill Room in Lake Worth and Eleva8ted with locations in West Palm Beach and Lake Worth were all found to have been selling illegal products. 
  • In a split 3-2 vote the Jupiter Town Council has voted to allow a developer to move forward with a mix-use hotel, apartment and retail complex on Suni Sands – which according to records is a Native American archeological site. The project, should it move forward, would have to overcome potential legal challenges in addition to any historic findings during the build creating the potential to halt the project. Meanwhile... 
  • Riviera Beach may be the home of the next Margaritaville-branded property. Developers have proposed a new Margaritaville hotel at the Rivieraa Beach Marina which is where the Margaritaville-branded cruise ship sails out of.  
  • Lobster mini-season is underway and runs through tomorrow (the 27th). The mini season allows for up to six mature lobsters to be harvested per person in the Keys and up to 12 per person across the rest of the state.  
  • Gas prices jumped for the second day in a row Tuesday. Statewide the average price for regular unleaded is currently $3.63 per gallon – 8 cents higher than yesterday and 20 cents higher than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.68 per gallon, which is the highest price in the state.
