The Trump Indictment - Déjà Vu with an Unreasonable Prosecutor

The Trump Indictment - Déjà Vu with an Unreasonable Prosecutor – Top 3 Takeaways – August 2nd, 2023

  1. Déjà vu with an unreasonable prosecutor. A Jack Smith led federal indictment of former President Donald Trump. We’ve been here before. We’ve heard this before. We have a trial in Ft. Pierce next May to show for it. And frankly from the moment Special Prosecutor Jack Smith pulled the trigger on the first federal indictment over classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago, something a certain former FBI Director said no reasonable prosecutor would do when Hillary Clinton was the subject of a similar investigation, this was always the most likely outcome. So given that by even James Comey’s definition, Jack Smith isn’t a reasonable prosecutor, the 4-count federal indictment brought by Smith against the former president was fully expected...including by Trump himself who’d been warning for weeks that this was coming. Now, the indictment itself reads very poorly for the former president and his alleged six co-conspirators. In reading the indictment, there’s nothing that’s really new – especially following last year’s J6 Committee dog and pony show. It mostly serves to fill in details of what was allegedly happening behind the scenes during the chaotic window between Election Day and January 7th. Those who loathe Donald Trump have all the additional info they need to affirm their beliefs that he should never be president. Those who are with Trump no matter what most certainly won’t be moved by reliving Trump’s role in attempting to influence an overturning of certified election results. Now, because this indictment was so predictable due to the unreasonable prosecutor, I’ll bring you exactly what I brought you two weeks ago today in my top takeaways that day... Trump’s a target. There is consistently one person the federal government is interested in investigating, illegally surveilling and throwing the book at. No, it’s not the man who had a crackhead son who miraculously became a board member for a corrupt Ukrainian energy company which paid him millions. No, it’s not the man who as Vice-President, with Ukrainian oversight, then demanded the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor investigating the corrupt energy company his crackhead son worked at – or Ukraine’s government would lose out on over a billion dollars in US assistance. No, it’s not the guy whose crackhead son then became “business partners” with Chinese Communist Party Controlled entities which paid him millions. No, it’s not the guy who was listed as “the big guy” who got a cut of the action of the Chinese Communist payouts which correspond to actions taken as Vice-President by “the big guy”. Why after all would the federal government be nearly as interested in those obvious acts of criminal activity and potential treason by the current President of the United States, when there’s another conspiracy, they can attempt to get the former president on. That’s far more important, isn’t it? So yes, we learned that Trump’s officially a “target”. of Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, who’s clearly set his sights on getting Trump, I mean justice, sent a letter informing the former president and current leading Republican Presidential candidate, informing him that he’s a “target” of his ongoing January 6th investigation. The legal term “target”, of which Trump now is for a third time within in year having been indicted twice already, means that a prosecutor and/or grand jury are alleging to have substantial evidence linking that person to the commission of a crime and who is a putative defendant in the view of the prosecutor. So, Jack Smith’s saying in so many words, that...
  2. An indictment is almost certainly coming and that they believe they’ve got the goods on Trump to tie him directly to the January 6th, 2021 riot at the Capitol. It could also mean he simply intends to bring the case in the D.C. court where a jury would be likely to convict Donald Trump for breathing air and being orange if he were charged for doing it. In that instance little more than stock J6 Committee footage would do. No, Joe Biden and his admitted criminal crackhead son aren’t the targets of the Merrick Garland led DOJ. No, the rouge actors in the FBI and DOJ who falsified FISA warrant requests and created the entire bogus Trump-Russia collusion narrative aren’t targets. No, the rouge actors in the FBI who verified Hunter Biden’s laptop as legitimate many months in advance of the presidential election, buried the evidence and then regularly briefed media companies to be on the lookout for Russian disinformation – ensuring the censorship of that information, aren’t the targets of the DOJ’s investigations. No, there’s no targeting of then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for refusing National Guard support that then President Donald Trump was ready to authorize to assist the Capitol Police to protect the Capitol against potential violence on January 6th – as intelligence in advance of the day suggested was likely. Nope, no targeting of D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser who likewise refuted the Trump authorized assistance from the National Guard. Nope, the only target is the man who now knows just how deep that swamp water is and the extent of the action that’s required to have it fully drained. Equal justice for all – has been targeted too. That clearly doesn’t exist in Joe Biden’s America under Merrick Garland’s Justice Department.
  3. What comes next. So, having said all that needed to be said about this two weeks ago, now that the charges have dropped, and the Biden dog that bites the Secret Service has been wagged to steer attention from the Biden Crime Family enterprise here’s what we can expect. First, none of the Trumped-up charges rose to the level of Incitement to Insurrection which was something I mentioned appeared to be off the table when Trump “Truthed” about his legal team having had a constructive meeting with Jack Smith last week. Why does that matter? Because no matter what happens here, Donald Trump can be elected and can serve as the next President of the United States. A conviction on an insurrection charge is literally the only offense where Trump could potentially be taken out of your hands. So yes, Trump could be convicted, he could be jailed, and he could win the Presidential election from behind bars if that’s what Americans will him to do. And what comes next for Trump, independent of state charges in Georgia pertaining to the conspiracy Smith’s charged him with federally, is this trial. It’s this trial, the January 6th case, that will take place first. Expect to see this trial scheduled to start quickly – well in advance of May when the docs case is scheduled. Trump reports to be booked on Thursday. The case can be scheduled in 90 days. The judge is Obama appointed. The setting is Washington D.C. None of that bodes well for Trump. This wasn’t the worst-case scenario for our former president. But it was the second worst scenario. Any Trump case brought before a D.C. jury comes with a grim outlook for his chances of succeeding. It’s been said but it may well prove true that Donald Trump is now running for his personal freedom in addition to running for president.
