Garland Grilled & Biden’s Impeachment Inquiry – Top 3 Takeaways

Garland Grilled & Biden’s Impeachment Inquiry – Top 3 Takeaways – September 21st, 2023

  1. The dementia defense. That didn’t take long. We weren’t more than a couple of minutes into the congressional grilling of Attorney General Merrick Garland when we had an eye-opening moment. To the question...: Have you had personal contact with anyone at FBI headquarters about the Hunter Biden investigation? Garland answered: ”I don’t recollect the answer to that question”. To the question: Can you tell us about any briefings and discussions that you personally have had with Mr. Weiss (special prosecutor) regarding any and all federal investigations of Hunter Biden? Garland’s answer: I’m gonna say again that I promised the Senate that I would not interfere in the Hunter Biden investigation. The follow up – Under oath today your testimony is you have not had any discussions with Mr. Weiss about this matter? His answer: “Under Oath, my testimony today is that I promised the Senate I would not intrude in this investigation. I do not intend to discuss internal Justice Department deliberations whether or not I had them”. Right. So, let’s see what we have here for a moment... Garland can’t recollect whether he has had any personal contact with any FBI officials about the Hunter Biden investigation? That’s about the legal equivalent of Bill Clinton saying he can’t remember if had sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky. Seriously, how could the Attorney General of the United States not have recollection of whether he reached out to FBI officials to discuss the Hunter Biden investigation? And what would Wray (FBI Director Christopher Wray) say – which is a question that should be asked of him – as part of the House Impeachment Inquiry. Is this now the Biden Administration’s standard...
  2. Dementia defense? First the president, then his son (who first pled guilty to crimes, before more recently pleading not guilty against them) and now the attorney general? Given the lengths that Garland went to not answer whether he had directly spoken to state attorney, now Special Prosecutor David Weiss, about the Hunter Biden investigation...what can we infer the answer to that question is? Something that Garland did directly answer was the question as to why he just recently, and suddenly, appointed David Weiss as a special prosecutor. He said it’s because Weiss asked to receive that designation. I’ll point you back to what I first brought you on August 14th following the appointment of David Weiss as special counsel: I have on good authority that Weiss gave Garland a noon deadline on Friday to name Weiss as a special prosecutor in the Biden case...or that Weiss was going to come public contradicting the AG’s statement that he’d never asked for the designation. The designation which would allow for him to be able to properly try the cases the whistleblowers said he had attempted to bring. Now Garland didn’t admit to being given an ultimatum by David Weiss, nor was he asked if one was given, but he did admit that the reason why Weiss was granted the elevated status is because it’s what Weiss wanted. And it just so happens to be that within a matter of weeks from getting out from under Garland, Weiss went from negotiating sweetheart plea deals with Hunter Biden to charging him with multiple felonies – with more that are on the way. Yesterday’s hearing was most revealing for what wasn’t said, which you had better believe will been sought through subpoenas under the Impeachment Inquiry, but it was also revealing at other times with a little additional context. Garland’s grilling didn’t go well for him or for the Biden Crime Family. The walls continue to close in on them and the three felony gun charges for Hunter were the tip of the iceberg. Again, it’s important to remember that Merrick Garland wouldn’t even sign off on those charges being brought against Hunter. That's the length he’s gone to protect the BCF. Now he’s got congressional oversight on one side and a Special Prosecutor on the other. The dementia defense won’t prove to be effective in this matter. The first Impeachment Inquiry hearing is a week from today, September 28th, stand by for news... And speaking of that impeachment inquiry...
  3. Most people are for it. Morning Consult’s latest polling seeking public opinion on the House’s Impeachment Inquiry into the Biden Crime Family has found that most people who have an opinion about it support it. By a margin of 48% to 42% those surveyed support the House’s Impeachment Inquiry. What’s more is that Independents are nearly twice as supportive of the Inquiry with net support jumping from 6-points in the overall survey to 11-points with only Independents considered. By way of comparison Americans are 11-points more supportive of this Impeachment Inquiry than they were of the one preceding the first Trump impeachment. The House is the body that’s most directly responsible for representing our interests. It can be said that by moving forward with the Impeachment Inquiry process the House is pursing the will of the American people and representing our interests.
