- Two disturbances are active in the Atlantic. Tropical Storm Tammy is now expected to strengthen into a hurricane prior to making landfall in the Lesser Antilles tomorrow. It's then expected to head north into the mid-Atlantic. Another disturbance in the southern Caribean Sea is being given a 20% chance of development over the next week.
- Palm Beach County has released a wide-reaching resident survey seeking input as to what residents identify as being the biggest issues facing the county and eliciting input on what could be done better heading into the new year. The online survey is available in English, Spanish and Creole and will remain open until December 1st.
- The Lord’s Place held a ribbon cutting ceremony as they officially opened a new 25,000 square foot homeless center on North Australian Avenue in West Palm Beach. The facility, which began operations in June, is the culmination of a five-year project to increase the capacity of The Lord’s Place’s to address and combat homelessness in the community. The Lord’s Place began as a soup kitchen in West Palm Beach in 1979 and has grown into an organization with over 200 employees and volunteers which serves thousands of homeless individuals annually including providing housing to over 400 people.
- Gas price declines have continued over the past day. Prices are another two cents lower today. Statewide the average price for regular unleaded is $3.25 per gallon – 12 cents lower than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.48 per gallon, which is the 12th highest price in the state and equals the best relative pricing of the year in our area.
