  • Winners of Mayoral elections in the Palm Beaches were Tom Carney in Delray Beach, Charles Shaw in Greenacres, Michael Brown in Hypoluxo, Peggy Wheeler in Juno Beach, Karen Lythgoe in Lantana, Frederick Pinto in Royal Palm Beach and Michael Napoleone in Wellington. In Lake Worth Beach the Mayoral race appears headed to a runoff between incumbent mayor Betty Resch and former commissioner Andy Amoroso. 
  • Voters in all five unincorporated communities neighboring Palm Beach Gardens rejected the city’s annexation efforts with fewer than 10% of voters supporting the efforts in each of the areas.  
  • Turnout for Tuesday’s elections totaled 22% in Palm Beach County, 21% in Martin County and nearly 24% in Indian River County – which is notable as Indian River County only had the previously decided Republican Presidential Preference Primary for voters to vote on. In Palm Beach County Republicans represented 53% of the potential voter pool, however they accounted for 61% of all ballots cast in the election.  
  • After starting in the 50’s this morning, today's high will be in the mid 70’s which is typical for this date. A similar weather pattern is expected through the weekend.  
  • Gas prices rose another four cents per gallon on Tuesday. The average price statewide for regular unleaded is currently $3.56 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $3.69 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.60 and in Indian River County the average is $3.55 per gallon.
