Boca Raton Fire Rescue has been back on the scene of a brush fire near Congress Avenue.

At around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, the agency posted on X, formerly Twitter, that all northbound lanes near 7400 Congress Ave. were closed due to the brush fire that had rekindled.

The five-acre blaze had initially erupted last Thursday morning and prompted responses from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Delray Beach Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service, along with Boca Fire Rescue.

On Friday the fire was contained, however; the department warned that the brush fire remains an ongoing issue and that the fire could reignite.

The brush fire has been burning in the Yamato Scrub Natural Area behind a Costco Wholesale club near Congress Avenue and Clint Moore Road.
