The Mayor of Riviera Beach says he expects to get an update in about a month on an investigation into the city's water quality.

Mayor Ronnie Felder ordered the investigation after hearing from the Florida Department of Health that fecal bacteria and E. Coli had contaminated the drinking water supply.

That February announcement came a month after city officials had said that a positive test for the bacteria in well water last summer had not gotten into drinking water.

"This is not about one person. It's about a system that failed."

At a Utilities Special District meeting this week, Felder said the investigation he ordered is not meant to point blame at someone, but rather to find out how to avoid this type of thing from happening in the future.
