I've seen a lot of Facebook postings with people complaining about seeing Christmas advertising and Christmas themed items in stores and we just got over Halloween. I say, what's the beef? So what? You know what? I'm ready for the holidays early this year.
We've had Super Storm Sandy strike the northeast and we've been exposed to all the sad and negative news about that. God only knows how many of us are ready for the election to be over with. And there have been other things this year that just make you wish for a magical time? Know what I mean?
Brian jokes about me liking the Hallmark Christmas movies so much. I've even told him on a couple of occasions when those movies start. I can't wait. It's like Brian on tough days saying he needs some Calgon to take him away. For me, the holidays are like Calgon.
They take me back to a time of innocence. They take me to a time of better feelings in people's hearts. They take me to a time of happiness and joy.
So I'm ready for the holidays to begin and if some stores, some cable channels and some advertising want to get an early start to that, I say go for it. I'm ready. I have been for a while now. I can't remember a year when I've anticipated the holidays and the joyous feeling that goes along with them to begin.
