Connie Mack IV leads nearest contender by more than 30 percentage points in race for GOP nomination

The latest poll in Florida's U.S. Senate race shows the GOP nomination is Connie Mack's to lose.  The Southwest Florida Congressman has opened a huge lead over his rivals in a three-way contest, according to a new poll from Quinnipiac University.  Mack was preferred by 40% of registered Florida Republican voters in a recent random telephone survey,  compared to 8%  for Tea Party favorite Mike McCalister. Former U.S. Senator George LeMieux, of South Florida, gets only 7% support.  41% of those polled, however, were undecided.  The GOP winner faces incumbent U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in November.
