Longtime local film critic Hap Erstein give us his take on the latest films at theaters.

Da da da da da da da da da da.  If that sounds (looks) familiar, then you have seen the preview for the latest "Madagascar" film.  That should find its way to number one at the box office, but there is also a new sci-fi movie about a group of explorers on a space ship, which looks an awful lot like "Alien".  Hap Erstein with PalmBeachArtsPaper.com reviews these and more.

"Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted" - In the latest installment of the popular animated series, the animals are lost in Europe, joining a traveling circus in an effort to find their way home. Hap says this may be the best of the three films.

"Prometheus" - Hap says that if you like seeing creatures popping out of stomachs, you will enjoy this sci-fi thriller, which is connected in some way to the 1979 film "Alien".  Also, both films share the same director, Ridley Scott.

"Hysteria" - A romantic comedy, believe it or not, about the invention of the electric vibrator.  It's another Hap Erstein recommendation.

"Elena" - A Russian story about the "haves" and "have nots".
