President Barack Obama will be in Florida on Friday, meeting with his supporters in what Ben LaBolt calls a critical state to their campaign efforts. He promises that we will see a lot of the President and the campaign in the weeks and months ahead.
A big topic of conversation, he says, will be on immigration. LaBolt says Obama has been fighting for comprehensive reform, the Dream Act, which would provide an earned path to citizenship for children who were brought here through no fault of their own and who want to contribute to our society by pursuing higher education or serving in the military.
Labolt tells us that republicans initially sponsored the legislation, but have been holding it up in Congress, so the President has taken administrative action to ensure that "we don't just let this problem stay out there".
