The Chair of the Democratic National Committee, South Fla Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, continues to talk up her candidate, President Barack Obama.
She gave us a sneak preview of the president's planned speech in front of a mostly senior citizen audience at Century Village in West Palm Beach. Wasserman Schultz says Obama will talk about his tax plan, in which the Bush-era cuts would be extended only for those making under $250,000.
The first Jewish congresswoman ever to be elected in Florida says the president will also talk about the tax plan of his republican rival Mitt Romney. She cites an independent economist who claimed the plan would create 800,000 jobs in other countries.
Wasserman Schultz says "we have to give the middle class...extend their tax breaks right now and give everybody their fair share".
She also speaks about the "tax return" issue, saying Mitt Romney has "clearly been unwilling to release his taxes". She claims he invested in a Swiss Bank Account, in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere. The lawmaker says that if it wasn't to shelter him from paying American taxes, "we need to know what it was".
