The annual Lobster Mini-Season takes place from Wednesday through Thursday this week.
It gives recreational fishermen a chance to capture spiny lobsters before the much longer commercial lobster season begins August 6.
During the two day mini-season, officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will be on patrol to ensure divers adhere to harvest and size limits.
Remember, you can take up to six lobsters per person, per day in Monroe County and Biscayne National Park waters, and 12 lobsters per person daily in other Florida waters.
