It was the lone undecided race from this month's primary elections. A challenge could still come.

Former Lake Worth Mayor and current State Representative Jeff Clemens has officially won the democratic primary in the race for state Senate, District 27.

This after a manual recount over the weekend, which shows Clemens beating fellow State Rep. Mack Bernard by just 17 votes.

The race was too close to call after the initial count, so the 25,000 ballots had to be recounted by hand.  A previous machine recount had Clemens up by 29 votes.

Bernard has 10 days from the time when the results are certified if he wants to file a challenge.

This race has no republican candidate running, which means Clemens is all but assured to be the next Senator from District 27.  He will likely run against a write-in candidate in November.
