School District officials have announced that Loxahatchee Groves Elementary School will reopen on Friday. Seven Acreage area schools will remain closed due to road flooding from Tropical Storm Isaac.
The schools that remain closed are Osceola Creek MS, Seminole Ridge HS, Golden Grove ES, Acreage Pines ES, Frontier ES, Pierce Hammock ES and Western Pines MS.
Employees in categories A&B in the seven schools that remain closed should report to work on Friday if they can do so safely.
Teachers and employees who live in The Acreage area and work in other parts of the county and are unable to travel to work safely should contact their schools.
Choice program students living in Loxahatchee Groves who attend the following schools will be picked up at select bus stops:
Dreyfoos School of the Arts
Bak Middle School
Roosevelt Middle
Suncoast High
Inlet Grove High
Riviera Preparatory
U.B. Kinsey Elementary
Available bus stops for the Choice program students living in Loxahatchee Groves are listed on the district's main website.
Since weather and flooding conditions are subject to change, our goal is to reopen the seven schools in The Acreage on Tuesday, but the final decision will be confirmed and announced no later than Monday afternoon.
Parents, employees and students are asked to watch the district website and the local news media for updates.
