Don't look now but the Florida Panthers' home has a new name. As of this week the building known to South Floridians as the Bank Atlantic Center, will now be called the BB&T Center.
This marks the fifth name for the arena which features concerts and shows like "Disney on Ice", in addition to the hockey games.
Prior to being called the Bank Atlantic Center, it was known as the Broward County Civic Arena, National Car Rental Center and Office Depot Center.
The name change this time around was not the result of a company moving on, it was the company BB&T taking over Bank Atlantic. The Winston Salem, N.C. based company acquired the South Florida bank in July and will officially rebrand most branches next month.
The Panthers have signed the bank to a 10 year contract to keep it's name on the team's Broward County Building. BB&T also has it's name on a minor league baseball park in its home state of North Carolina.
