Authorities in Martin County say car thieves are targetting visitors to the Sailfish Splash Water Park. according to TC Palm, in the five months since the county run park has opened, there have been about half a dozen auto break-ins.
Martin County Sheriff's officials say in most of the cases, vehicle windows were smashed right in the parking lot, and crooks made off with anything of value they could find.
The Director of Martin County Parks and Rec says Sailfish Splash is actually a safe spot, when you consider more than 130,000 people have visited the park, and only five vehicles have been burglarized. Visitors are urged to not leave valuables in their cars.
