The Safety Council of Palm Beach County, Inc. will provide low cost child safety seats along with education on proper installation during National Child Passenger Safety Week September 17-21.
Typically, the Safety Council Child Saver Program offers seats by appointment each Friday. During this week, certified child passenger safety technicians will be on hand to check car seats for proper installation and advise parents and caregivers how to choose the right car seats and install them properly in their vehicles.\
Interested parents and caregivers should contact the Safety Council at 561-845-8233 and make an appointment during the following times:
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: from 8:30 a.m. -11:30 a.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Parents/caregivers should bring their children and their vehicle, and expect to be at the Council for a half hour appointment. A $10.00 donation will be requested.
- These brand new child safety seats are appropriate for children who weigh 5 to 40 pounds.
Any Palm Beach County resident is eligible, and the Council wants to particularly reach out to residents of Riviera Beach, Mangonia Park and Lake Park. Parents who have a child safety seat can have it checked to make sure it is properly installed.
