One week from Monday, the eyes of our nation will be focused on Palm Beach County. The final Presidential Debate between President Barack Obama and challenger Mitt Romney will be held at Lynn University in Boca Raton.
We spoke with Joshua Glanzer, Public Relations Director at the school, who informed us that the university has put in a lot of time and hard work in the last year getting ready to host the final presidential debate in what some people are calling the most important election this country has seen in sometime.
More than 2,000 media members will be attending the debate and the school has needed the entire year to make room for all those in attendance.
Glanzer adds that the school is "working closely with the Palm Beach County Convention and Visitors Bureau tracking rooms that are booked" and watching other spending patterns visitors take.
Glanzer goes on to speak about the financial impact the debate will have on our area saying "it will be probably be in the tens of millions", referring to the vice presidential debate in Cleveland, Ohio back in 2004 which had a $22 million impact on the area.
