Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is scheduled to spend the day in Florida starting with a stop in Ocala.
His first campaign stop in swing state Florida is at a noontime rally Thursday in downtown Ocala.
A few thousand people gathered hours before the scheduled event.
Later Thursday, Ryan is scheduled to stop in Naples for a fundraiser and in Fort Myers for a campaign rally. He is not scheduled to be in South Florida or the Treasure Coast, however Vice President Joe Biden will make campaign stops in South Florida and Tampa on Friday and Saturday.
