South Fla. U.S. Rep. Allen West is ready for Friday night's debate with Patrick Murphy.

It's a big night for the candidates in the U.S. House District 18 race between GOP candidate Allen West, a current member of the House, and political newcomer Patrick Murphy, a democrat. We spoke with West about the debate, which is hosted by our NewsChannel 5 partners.
It will be held at the WPTV studios, because as West says "my opponent, for some reason did not want the debate to be held in public."
As to what he expects to hear from his opponent at the debate, West says Murphy is running a "hate me" campaign, referring to himself, "and that's not going to get you far".
So, what will West be addressing? Concerns over healthcare will be among the issues. "Just the other night at my daughter's volleyball game, I had a couple nurses approach me with there concerns with the healthcare law." He said "It is stressing doctors and nurses alike"
