Former Hurricane Sandy leads to more damage on already eroded beaches in PBC.

Erosion is a concern on many local beaches, including along Singer Island where a multi-million dollar sand dune restoration project that was originally set to take place early next year will now likely start as early as next week.

Crews plan to use more than 40 thousand cubic yards of sand to restore the beaches there.

In Delray Beach, Sandy's surf washed away much of the beach. A $9 million renourishment project in the works for a two mile stretch of sand, north of Linton Boulevard is now even more crucial.

Sandy's handiwork may add another million dollars towards that project.
