The American Red Cross is sending volunteers to the Northeast.
Many of the helpers are from the local Red Cross chapters. In fact, the organization is assisting thousands of northeasterners living in shelters in the wake of former Hurricane Sandy.
Officials with the Red Cross say the best way you can help is to donate money. There are several ways to do that...by phone, text or online.
