December's median price was the highest it's been for a full year.

Condo and townhouse prices in Palm Beach County edged up in December, according to a new report from the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches.

Prices ended the year at their highest level in 12 months, as inventory dropped, investors bought in bulk and developers rushed plans for new communities.

The median sales price for a condo or townhome was $98,750 and that was a 34 percent increase from the same month in 2011.  That was also a 55 percent decline from $220,400, the median price when the housing boom was at its peak.

The statewide median price for a condo in December was $117,500, up 26 percent from last year.
