Longtime local film critic Hap Erstein shares his opinions of the latest film releases.

With the Academy Awards soon approaching (Feb. 24), three Oscar-winners star in one comedy, Hap Erstein with PalmBeachArtsPaper.com gives us his take on that one and he's late by one week on the "Hansel and Gretel" flick, but if you haven't seen it yet, he's got a warning.

"Stand Up Guy" - Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Alan Arkin star in a comedy about three old crooks who try to pull off one last heist.  Hap enjoyed this film.

"Bullet to the Head" - An action flick starring Sylvester Stallone in which he, well who cares, he gets angry, kills a bunch of people and drinks beer.

"Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" - Jeremy Renner stars as grown up Hansel from the old fairy tale. He and his sister are now witch hunters.  Hap gives his review.

"Warm Bodies" - A zombie-comedy about an unusual zombie known only as "R" who seems to learn, slowly but surely, how to be human again.  You have to look to the scenes featuring veteran actor John Malkovich to find anyone in this film that most of us would recognize.

"The Oscar-Nominated Short Films" - These include the animated films, like "Maggie Simpson in the Longest Daycare". Yes, that's the baby from "The Simpsons" cartoon.
