12 year old Mitchell Tobin of Boca Raton attended 6th and part of 7th grade at Bach Middle School of the Arts.  He is now the star of the show "Billy Elliot the Musical", which is touring throughout the nation and Canada, and playing this week at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.

Mitchell tells us he doesn't mind playing a kid that's actually a year younger than him.

"The role that I play, Billy, is a very mature 11 year old. He acts like he's already 13 and it's really cool to play him."

The show is based on the film of the same name, about a boy whose father wants him to box, but he discovers ballet instead.  Billy Elliot wants to pursue ballet, but his father and brother are not supportive.  He has no mother to turn to, as she has passed on.  The show features music by Elton John.

Mitchell's mom in real life, Valerie Tobin, says she's been on the road with her son for about three months and loves watching him perform.  She says he was always a great dancer, but it's fun to watch him do the singing and acting now, as well.

"Billy Elliot the Musical" runs through Sunday at the Kravis Center.  Afterward, they'll move on to Illinois, and eventually Canada, California and Vegas.
